ketches
are fun, don't you think? I sure do... On this page are some of those
drawings I don't think quite merits being showcased with loud cheers
on my part, because they're mostly character studies, "heads" or unfinished
doodles, yet still do have some artistic merit. Or..heck..maybe I just want
to put them here!
I wish more people would put up some unfinished stuff, instead of just
polished end-results. Seeing a halfway finished drawing often induces
(in me) an "Aha!" reaction, when I realize why an artist drew a
character like
that, and how. I mean, if a finished drawing is really elaborate, those things
are not readily visible, at least not to the untrained eye. You just
go "Wow.." and wonder how they did it.
I'm not saying any of my stuff is instructive in any way, put perhaps
this convinces someone else to do the same?
Of course there's tons of stuff like this in my drawers, but I don't think
any of us would be serviced by my scanning in the rest, eh? :) Anyway, here, have some sketches!
The newest are generally on top.
Furry sketches
| One large image with lots of heads and doodles. |
| The beginning of an article meant for a.f.f. that I wrote but deleted.
Look ma! I can draw hands!
| A fox in a tie. (No, a neck-tie! :-)
The pencils under the ink aren't erased, and to confuse
matters further,
the pencils are quickly coloured in Photoshop.

This is a page from my lecture notes in Queueing Theory. Everybody seemed to get it except me.
| Two more cats. I like their expressions...
| I took a Japanese course, and drew this during a lesson. :)
These are some panda doodles that I made, trying to get a feel
for how they look (in order to do a commission).
| Three doodles in one: a fox, a lynx and a panther.
| A entire page from my sketchbook; two foxes and a cat. It's a bit more
structured than most pages, so I didn't have to cut-n-paste :-)
| A character study of Buran the snow leopard (c) Jennifer
Sarantites, in preparation for a commissioned drawing of her.
| This is several sketches pasted into one picture, to save
you the bother of having to download lots of puny pictures.
| Another compilation (see previous description).
| A very rough outline of a nude fox.
| This is a page from my "Differential equations and transforms"
lecture notes on Fourier series. Obviously, I was bored (and giggling incoherently :-)
| Janet Ringtail approaches Sam Slade (of my comic strip that
fortunately noone outside KTH has ever seen)!
| An early version of Victor Sikorsky, with the gun of his dreams.
