El personaje del hombre lobo, es muy comúnmente empleado en las canciones de las bandas de rock heavy metal. La mayoría de estas letras lo describen como una bestia hambrienta sin control y en algunos casos como un sinónimo del demonio. Pero, a pesar de lo que puedas imaginar, en contraparte existen canciones que usan al personaje para describir la deshumanización del hombre, lo absurdo de la vida moderna, el amor eterno entre la pareja o la lealtad y el valor. Así que en cierta forma tenemos dos lados opuestos de la misma moneda, en una pequeña ironía que nos juega la vida.
