Half Human Half Animal By Jamie Hall
First Book Editions. United States, 2003. ISBN - 1410758095
Have you ever wished to become a tiger, exploring the jungle on velvet paws, or a dolphin,
leaping through sprays of sea foam? If so, you are not the first person to have this idea.
Folklore abounds with legends of shapeshifters. Werewolves are the most familiar example,
but there are many others. In fact, it is hard to find an animal with no corresponding
transformation lore.
All of the included tales were once thought to be true. Nor are they only from the distant
past. As recently as the 1990's, werewolf sightings were pouring forth from Delavan, Wisconsin,
and people of Amazonas in Brazil swore that their governor could become a dolphin. Certain
thnic communities within America still cling to the "reality" of shapeshifters, as do
countless traditional villages in Africa and Asia.
Within these pages, you will meet eccentric characters like General Quiroga of Argentina,
who claimed he had a regiment of men who could turn into jaguars, along with romantic figures
like the exotic fox maidens of Japan. You will also find the world's largest published
directory of werewolf-related fiction, with over 250 films and more than 500 books.
